A while ago I got a bag of dc barrel jack pairs, and have been slowly building up my easily connectable dc parts kit.

Pictured is:
- An extension cord plugged into the house.
- Power cord that fits the laptop adapter and universal charger.
- An old laptop adapter (15V 4A), it runs at automotive voltages and puts out over 1A easily. Long ago I modified the cord to use an XT-60 connector.
- XT-60 to barrel adapter.
- A voltage and current monitor.
- Laptop Universal Charger, I bought this one several years ago, and had to modify the laptop tip end to make it more universal so it can power my laptop, as it did not have a compatible tip for it. The barrel connectors I got fit in the DC input port. This charger struggles when drawing over 1A while plugged into AC.
- Another voltage and current monitor.
- The laptop charging cable configured for older HP laptops (5v pin, 19v barrel).
- the back end of my laptop.
This setup is surprisingly silent.
Occasionally, one of the connectors fails to connect properly and needs to be adjusted, they are not perfect.
